What time can I check-in?
Check-in is from 3pm.
If I arrive early can I store my luggage?
Yes we will store your luggage for no extra charge for you until your room is ready.
What time can I check-out?
Check-out is at 12pm.
Do you offer an early check-in service?
If you need the room earlier, you can check-in at 1pm for €20 per room. This must be pre-arranged.
Can I check out late for a fee?
If you want to stay a little longer on your departure day, you can check-out at 1pm for €30 per room. This must be pre-arranged and subject to availability.
Do you offer parking?
There is complimentary parking available. Including an electric charge port.
Is there parking for buses/large vehicles?
We have a separate area for coach parking at the entrance of our car park.
Is there someone who can help me with my bags?
A porter can come and help you with your luggage. Please come to reception to arrange this when you arrive.
What type of breakfast do you offer?
A freshly made-to-order, hot Irish breakfast is available each morning. Lighter bites like porridge or a smoothie are also available.
What time is breakfast?
Breakfast is served in the Brendan O Regan Restaurant, Monday to Sunday: 7am – 10.00am
Do you offer Gluten Free/Vegan options?
Yes, we cater to all dietary requirements. Please ask your server.
Where can I have lunch?
Lunch midweek is served in our Town Hall Bistro and Poets Corner Bar. Specials are available daily. Lunch reservations are not taken mid-week.
Sunday lunch is available in the Town Hall and the Brendan O Regan Restaurant. We always recommend making bookings for Sunday lunch.
Where can I have dinner?
Our Dining Room, the Brendan O Regan restaurant is open Friday and Saturday evenings from 6.30pm.
The Town Hall Bistro is open from 6:00pm for dinner. There are 2 sittings available 6:00pm or 8:30pm.
The Poets Corner serves food all day from 12.30 until 9pm on a first come, first seated basis.
Should I pre-book my meal?
We would highly recommend booking for dinner and Sunday lunch. We do not take lunch bookings Monday-Saturday.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Vouchers can be purchased online here or in the hotel. These can be used in all parts of the Old Ground, including dining and accommodation. They can also be used for any of the Flynn Hotels.
Is private room hire available?
Rooms can be booked for special occasions or for corporate business.
Can I arrange for a pre-paid gift to be put in a room?
Yes of course. You can choose from the below options.

Does the Hotel have live music?
Friday, Saturday & Sunday night there is live Traditional Irish music on in the Poets Corner.
Rooms & Reservations
Can you provide a cot?
Yes we can put a cot in the room at no extra charge. Availability is limited so prebooking is advised.
Do you have triple room options?
Our standard twin rooms have a double and a single. A triple can also book a Family room or Junior Suite which has 2 double beds.
Do you have walk-in showers?
Yes we have rooms that have a walk-in shower and these can be requested if needed.
Is there a wheelchair-accessible room?
We have a wheelchair-accessible room with grab rails in the bathroom.
How do I modify/cancel a booking I made for the Old Ground on Booking.com/Expedia?
Guests who booked through a travel agent or other third parties must cancel/modify their booking directly with that party. For the most flexible booking options, book directly with us.
What is the cancellation policy?
For individual bookings, the cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance.
Does the Old Ground have leisure facilities?
We do not have a gym or leisure facilities on site. However, we are happy to recommend some local facilities that offer a walk-in service to guests of the hotel.
Do the rooms have a hair dryer?
Yes, all room have a hair dryer.
Is there an ironing board/iron in the room?
Yes, we have ironing facilities in the room.
Which rooms have air conditioning?
Our Deluxe rooms have air conditioning.
Are there tea/coffee-making facilities in the rooms?
Yes, there are facilities in all rooms for tea/coffee making.
Do you provide a laundry service?
We work closely with an external laundry service who will pick up laundry early in the morning from reception and return the same evening.
What is the hotel's policy on tips and gratuities?
All tips and gratuities (and service charges) collected by electronic means are distributed to employees in a manner that has been agreed with employees. The business shares the amount collected among all employees based on the employee's role in service delivery.
Where is the hotel?
The hotel is located opposite the cathedral on Station Road.
Is it in the centre of Ennis town?
The hotel is right in the Town centre, at the top of O’ Connell Street.
How far is Shannon Airport?
The airport is 23.3km away which takes 20-25 minutes. A private transfer can be arranged by the hotel for you.
How far are the Cliffs of Moher?
The Visitor Centre at the Cliffs of Moher is 33km away, about 50 minutes away.
What is the Eircode for the Old Ground?
I am arriving by bus or train, is the hotel close by?
The bus & rail station is 650m away from the hotel and very easy to access.
