Galway Race Course is just under a 1 hour drive from the Old Ground Hotel and is Ireland’s most popular race course. Their annual Summer Racing Festival takes place in July and runs for seven days starting on the last Monday in July. Race meetings are also held in September and October each year.
Limerick Racecourse hosts 18 racing fixtures throughout the year – a mixture of weekend, bank holiday and evening meetings, with a magnificent race fixture each year over the Christmas period.
